Grounded in community and sustained by hope, Charlie's Place offers a warm and calm space where people experiencing homelessness get basic needs met while also finding the resources they need to empower themselves and better their lives.
Join us as Charlie's Place hosts a community meal for our neighbors: Thursday, November 19 12:00-3:00 p.m. The meal will be prepared by Vincent, our former chef and kitchen coordinator, along with a team of volunteers. Charlie’s Place is forming an advisory board. The purpose is to help with strategic planning and widen our circle of individual donors. Meetings will happen four times a year. We are looking for people who are interested in volunteering in various capacities and helping to introduce Charlie’s Place to their social networks. If you’re interested, please reach out to Ellen Silva, who is interviewing potential candidates.
Our team recently earned their ServSafe Manager certifications. This certification is a nationally recognized food safety credential for those who serve food in public places, such as restaurants, accredited by the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB) and the Conference for Food Protection (CFP). Reggie, our Executive Director, has personally assisted six unhoused neighbors—including our long-time volunteer Tamiko—in securing permanent housing this year. While the impact
